Historic England now ‘queering’ history

This beautiful building, which has featured in the TV drama ‘Poirot’ has a secret homosexual history (which we must now have forced down our throats). I quote:

A unique and sprawling mansion built ‘in response to homophobia’ has been awarded Grade-II listed status as part of a project recognising Britain’s ‘queer history’.

Historic England has listed, upgraded or updated listings for six locations across England which are of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) value.

Other locations include the grave of writer, musician and Egyptologist Amelia Edwards, the London home of Oscar Wilde and the house where Benjamin Britten lived with his partner, the tenor Peter Pears. 

Historic England said this was part of a major initiative ‘to improve understanding and recognition of England’s diverse heritage, tackling under-recognition of the major influences and contributions of communities including LGBTQ, Black and Minority Ethnic Groups, disabled people and women in building the nation we live in.’ (source)

No, it’s called ramming it down our throats that even the history we cherished as ‘normal’ was in fact infested with homosexuals, thus justifying the dominance of their agenda today. Notable by their absence in the last sentence there were straight white men….

  1. I would have to disagree with your narrative that acknowledging homosexuals in history is somehow ‘ramming this down our throats’. It’s simply the truth. A truth that at the time had to be concealed because of the persecution faced by homosexuals.

      1. Homosexuality existed in the past. Denial of that won’t change that. Additionally, if someone does not believe in God, are they therefore bound to follow someone else’s belief system? To have that system forced upon them?

      2. It is a matter of consequences. I agree the past has contained this very same sin – obviously – look at the city of Sodom! If we, however, change our stance towards that very same sin, we encourage others to take it up. If you don’t believe in God, or if you do, this sin has consequences. I know that sounds harsh, but I wasn’t always a believer – I know from my past friendships, the damage of the gay agenda.

      3. Denial of the truth of history is certainly not going to change it, so acknowledging the existence of homosexuality in the past, rather than the narrative of trying to deny it and forcing homosexuals ‘underground’ so to speak, is surely healthier all round?

        The truth is, homosexuals have faced persecution, violence and death throughout history, by those who would claim to be righteous. Surely the greatest sin is that of inflicting harm and suffering upon our fellow humans?

      4. If that is the belief route you want to take, which is not righteous, but worldly, then everything you are saying is absolutely correct and true. If you want a better society, however, you won’t dig up the past to justify the present state of the world. It would be like saying women have always aborted their children, at least we have clinics these days, and it’s all open and above board, because, look, we made it legal. Making something legal doesn’t make it not a sin, it just brings the whole country under judgement. Sin is sin.

      5. But if one does not believe, then one cannot be held to those standards of what is and is not sin (indeed, is sin a concept in those circumstances?). I would ask – what exactly is the objection to homosexuals? Is it not on a par with the discrimination faced by blacks and other ethnic minorities? What is the justification – besides God – for the ongoing discrimination and violence faced by the homosexual community? Is that not what is truly evil??

      6. Homosexuality is a sin in the eyes of God. The bible is clear. I have known many gay men in my time and I have seen and known the destructive qualitites of homosexuality. Gays are not discriminated against, as far as I can see – however in spite of the fact that the church can help them, and loves them (because we do, it’s the sin we hate), they have a tendency to want to rub their rights in our faces. I note they don’t try that with Muslim bakers! What is truly evil is what God says is truly evil – I know that’s not the answer you want to hear! I understand that because you are leaning on your own understanding. Philosophy and emotive thinking will always lead to shifting sands morality (which is where we are today).

      7. I too personally know those who are gay, who have faced discrimination and persecution at the hands of God-loving people. They continue to face the threat of violence, and they are indeed discriminated against – there are those who would deny them rights of employment, much less marriage – for something they didn’t choose.

        It’s clear that I am not going to shift your position on this, and it’s probably apparent to you that my position won’t change either, so perhaps it is best to end this conversation whilst it is still amicable. I bid you good day.

      8. Yep – it’s an issue we can go around the houses on again and again. I was once where you are, however, and had very much your viewpoint. God changed me, and now I’m a believer. All things are possible with God!

      9. I would suggest you read some historical monographs by historians, as you could learn a great deal about these topics. Churches in the US did not teach that homosexuality was a sin until the era of the World Wars. People come in all kinds of different ways. There is no such thing as “sin” – that is used as a way to try and control and brainwash others. As far as your comments below, Queer people lack all kinds of right. Please read about cisgender privilege and heterosexual privilege, as well as heteronormativity.

      10. The bible teaches that homosexuality is a sin. I am not interested in learning about Cultural Marxist concepts of ‘heterosexual privilege’ and so-called ‘cis-geder privilege’ – the bible is CLEAR. Thank you for your comment.
