Matthew Delooze (matthewdelooze.co.uk) came up with this concept of the second net to describe what happens to those who escape the first net (the mainstream media). He said the second net was the alternative media, and for me, while I might not agree with him about much else, his insight on this was profound – I had the same feeling, except I described it a little differently. I felt there was a pincer movement – a second arm of non-establishment (or seemingly non-establishment) figures, providing an alternative to the mainstream news which was as loaded with fear triggers as the first.
What difference does it make whether you read the dailymail.com or whether you read David Icke? They are both out to scare the cr*p out of you – because their master is the same! (Watch David Icke debunked here: Link) Satan wants to control you – he wants to drive you using your emotions, using your thoughts – anything he can to push you where he wants you to go, but God says, in His word, in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (KJV)
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
We are to watch our thoughts – we are to acknowledge that they are not necessarily our own, and that we can be encouraged to think the way others might want – so we must bring those thoughts into obedience to Christ.
In obedience to Christ we can begin to trust in God more deeply, and walk in stronger faith – which we need to do in these days.
I have recently seen what I can only describe as potentially some of the most irresponsible reporting ever in the alternative media, and this was a reminder to me that we are to be aware of the devil’s devices – we must be careful who we listen to, and who we read. Satan wants you to be afraid, yet God says:
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
If we spent as much time reading the bible as we do absorbing the media we might be much happier, and much more prepared for what is coming – this is as much as anything a note to self, as a message to others.
God Bless you
